How do I get to your yard with a large truck?

For trucks and trailers, access the yard from Midland Avenue: take a right onto Banta Street, then continue straight ahead. The dock for trucks is the first one on the right. Standard cars and pickups can enter from Division Avenue directly.

Yes — residential drop-offs (garage clean-outs, old appliances, copper pipe from a renovation), contractor loads from electricians, plumbers, HVAC, and demolition crews, and full industrial accounts with regular pickups. We've worked with one-time sellers and weekly commercial accounts for over 20 years.

How is payment handled?

Cash on the spot for most loads. For larger commercial transactions we can issue a check the same day. New Jersey law requires us to record a valid government-issued ID for scrap transactions — bring your license and we'll handle the rest.

What is the best copper to bring in for the highest payout?

Accepted Answer

Bare bright copper — clean, uncoated, shiny copper wire stripped of insulation — pays the highest per pound. It's followed by #1 copper (clean tubing and bus bar, no paint or solder), then #2 copper (oxidized or lightly soldered). If you have the time, stripping insulated wire down to bare bright copper can significantly increase your payout — but we'll always pay you fairly for insulated wire too if stripping isn't worth your time.

We can take them as ferrous scrap, but the refrigerant must be professionally removed first (federal EPA requirement). If you need a recovery service, we can point you to one nearby.

Yes. We take a gross weight (loaded) and a tare weight (empty) and pay you on the net. You're welcome to watch both weighings.

There's no minimum. We've paid out for everything from a single coffee can of copper fittings to 40-ft roll-offs of mixed steel. Everyone gets the same honest treatment.
