What We Buy

Every metal worth weighing — graded honestly in Garfield, NJ.

From a single coffee can of brass to weekly roll-offs from a demo crew. Pick the category below to see how we grade, what to bring, and what to expect at the dock.

Service 01

Copper Buying — All Grades

Get a quote for this

Copper is the headline metal for most sellers — and where honest grading matters most. We separate bare bright, #1, and #2 right in front of you so you're never paid the lowest grade for a mixed load. If you have insulated wire, we'll tell you whether stripping it down to bare bright is worth your time.

Grades / What we accept
  • Bare Bright (highest payout)
  • Copper #1 (clean tubing, bus bar)
  • Copper #2 (oxidized, light solder)
What to expect

Bring it loose, in buckets, or banded. We'll dump, sort, and weigh each grade separately.

Service 02

Brass & Bronze

Get a quote for this

Plumbing fittings, valves, fixtures, ammo casings, machined bronze — all welcome. We grade yellow vs red brass on the floor and pay by category, not a blended 'brass' price that quietly costs you money.

Grades / What we accept
  • Yellow Brass
  • Red Brass
  • Bronze (machine & valve)
What to expect

If you've got brass valves with steel attachments, we'll let you know whether stripping the steel is worth it for your load size.

Service 03

Insulated Wire — Graded by Recovery

Get a quote for this

Insulated wire is paid by estimated copper recovery, not raw weight. Heavy single-conductor cable with thick copper inside pays at 30%; common 12/2 romex pays around 25%; thin holiday lights or speaker wire pay at 15%. We'll show you exactly which tier your wire falls into and why.

Grades / What we accept
  • 30% recovery — heavy gauge, clean jacket
  • 25% recovery — mid gauge, typical romex
  • 15% recovery — Christmas lights, fine extension cord
What to expect

Tip: if you have a lot of bare-strippable cable, stripping it down to bare bright copper roughly doubles your per-pound payout.

Service 04

Aluminum

Get a quote for this

Siding, gutters, extrusions, wheels, cast pieces. We separate clean from painted because clean aluminum pays substantially more per pound. Wheels (especially without tires) carry their own premium.

Grades / What we accept
  • Clean Sheet & Extrusion
  • Cast Aluminum
  • Aluminum Wheels
  • Dirty / Painted Aluminum
What to expect

Drop tires off your wheels if possible — it speeds up the transaction and protects the per-pound rate.

Service 05

Stainless Steel

Get a quote for this

We test stainless with a magnet on the floor — 304 is non-magnetic, ferritic grades and prepared sheet pay less. Bring sinks, restaurant equipment, exhaust, and machined parts. We pay by grade, not a generic 'stainless' rate.

Grades / What we accept
  • 304 / 18-8 (food-grade, kitchen sinks, fittings)
  • 316 (marine, chemical, premium)
What to expect

Restaurant tear-outs welcome — we can handle volume.

Service 06

Cast Iron & Ferrous Metals

Get a quote for this

Old radiators, engine blocks, sash weights, structural cuts, appliances (with refrigerant removed). We buy by the pound across all the standard ISRI grades. Bring a trailer or roll-off and we'll move you through fast.

Grades / What we accept
  • Cast Iron
  • Heavy Steel (HMS)
  • Prepared Sheet
  • Light Iron
What to expect

Appliances with refrigerant lines (AC, fridges) must have refrigerant professionally recovered first — we'll point you to a service if needed.

Service 07

Commercial & Industrial Accounts

Get a quote for this

Electricians, plumbers, HVAC, demo crews, and manufacturers — we set up accounts with consistent pricing, fast turnaround at the dock, and same-day check payment for larger loads. Many of our commercial clients have been with us since the early 2000s.

Grades / What we accept
  • Contractor accounts
  • Roll-off & trailer service
  • Same-day check payment
  • Volume pricing
What to expect

Call to set up an account. We'll talk pickup options, weighing schedule, and pricing structure.

Service 08

Residential Drop-Off

Get a quote for this

Never scrapped before? You're in the right place. Drive in, we'll help you sort, and we'll walk you through every piece. We don't talk down to first-time sellers — most of our long-term residential customers started with a single garbage can of mixed metal.

Grades / What we accept
  • Garage clean-outs
  • Renovation copper & wire
  • Old appliances
  • First-timers welcome
What to expect

Bring a valid government-issued ID — required by NJ scrap law. We handle the paperwork.
