From your truck to cash in hand — usually under 15 minutes.
We've designed every step of the yard around two ideas: you should see every pound, and you should leave knowing exactly how the number was calculated.
Bring Your Scrap
Drive into 246 Division Ave during business hours. Cars and pickups use the front entrance; trucks and trailers come in from Midland Ave. Bring a valid ID — required by NJ scrap law.
We Weigh It (You Watch)
We pull your vehicle onto the certified scale. You watch the display. Net weight is the gross weight minus your empty (tare) weight — totally transparent, totally yours to verify.
We Grade & Sort to Maximize Your Payout
We separate metals by grade — bare bright vs #1 vs #2 copper, yellow vs red brass, clean vs painted aluminum. Each grade is paid at its real per-pound rate so you're never paid the lowest price for a mixed load.
You Get Paid On the Spot
Cash in hand for most loads. Larger commercial loads get a same-day check. We hand you a receipt, you drive out. Whole transaction usually under 15 minutes.
Six insider tips from the floor.
We tell every regular customer these — no reason to keep them secret.
Separate your metals before you come.
Even a rough sort (copper in one bucket, brass in another, aluminum loose) saves time and helps you watch the grading more closely.
Strip wire if you have the time.
Insulated wire pays at 15–30% of its weight in copper recovery. Bare bright copper pays the full rate. For thick single-conductor cable, stripping often doubles your payout.
Pull steel off your brass.
Brass valves with steel handles or attachments get graded down because of the steel weight. Knocking the steel off — if it's easy — protects your brass rate.
Don't mix grades in one bin.
A bucket with #1 and #2 copper mixed will get paid at the lower rate. Two buckets, two prices.
Bring it dry.
Wet copper or wire weighs more on the scale, but most yards (including us) deduct for visible moisture. Dry metal = cleaner number.
Aluminum wheels — pull the tires.
Aluminum wheels with tires still on get a 'dirty' rate. Tires off, they go on the clean aluminum or wheel-specific price.
